FanosApps ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Amharic Dictionary mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We designed Amharic Dictionary to work offline-first and keep data collection to an absolute minimum.
- Account information. Amharic Dictionary does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number through the app.
- Search history. Your dictionary lookups are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
- Diagnostic data. With your permission, anonymized crash reports and basic device information (OS version, device model, app version) may be collected through Google Play Services to help us fix bugs.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect only to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Diagnose technical problems and prevent abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for ad targeting.
3. Permissions
Amharic Dictionary may request the following device permissions:
- Storage. To cache the offline dictionary database.
- Network. To check for dictionary updates.
You can revoke any permission at any time from your device settings.
4. Third-Party Services
Amharic Dictionary relies on a small number of third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf:
- Google Play Services — distribution, crash reporting, and update delivery.
Each of these providers handles data according to its own privacy policy.
5. Children's Privacy
Amharic Dictionary is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Data Retention
Because the dictionary itself runs locally, there is no user data on our servers to retain. Anonymized diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary to identify and fix issues.
7. Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Clear Amharic Dictionary's local data through your device's app settings.
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information.
- Contact us with questions about your data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced inside the app.
