Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 2, 2026

FanosApps ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Ethiopian Calendar (የኢትዮጵያ ቀን መቁጠሪያ) mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Ethiopian Calendar is designed to work fully offline and to collect as little data as possible.

  • Account information. No account is required. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number through the app.
  • Calendar data. Events, reminders, and notes you create stay on your device. We never upload them to our servers.
  • Date conversions. Conversions between the Ethiopian and Gregorian calendars happen locally on your device.
  • Diagnostic data. With your permission, anonymized crash reports and basic device information (OS version, device model, app version) may be collected through Google Play Services to help us fix bugs.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Diagnose technical problems and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for ad targeting.

3. Permissions

Ethiopian Calendar may request the following device permissions:

  • Notifications. To deliver reminders for holidays, fasting periods, and events you save.
  • Calendar (optional). Only if you choose to add events to your phone's system calendar — we never read your existing calendar entries without your action.
  • Storage. To keep the holiday database, fasting calendar, and your saved events available offline.
  • Network. To check for content updates (new holidays, corrections, app updates).

You can revoke any permission at any time from your device settings.

4. Holidays, Fasting Days, and Religious Content

Ethiopian Calendar includes Ethiopian Orthodox fasting periods, Muslim holidays, and national public holidays as a reference. These are general-knowledge dates compiled from public sources and are not collected from or about you. You can hide categories you don't observe at any time from in-app settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Ethiopian Calendar relies on a small number of third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf:

  • Google Play Services — distribution, crash reporting, and update delivery.

Each of these providers handles data according to its own privacy policy.

6. Children's Privacy

Ethiopian Calendar is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Data Retention

Because the calendar runs locally, there is no user-generated content on our servers to retain. Anonymized diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary to identify and fix issues.

8. Your Rights

You may, at any time:

  • Clear Ethiopian Calendar's local data through your device's app settings.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information.
  • Contact us with questions about your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced inside the app.

10. Contact
